1. How can I Enrol my Son/Daughter into Coláiste Chiaráin?
First year enrolment is normally in October. Primary schools in the area are provided with prospectus and information, followd by a open evening

Coláiste Chiaráin is located in Summerhill, Athlone, Co Roscommon aproximately 4km from the Town Centre
3. Does Coláiste Chiaráin have a Uniform?
We have a Uniform and PE Uniform

4. Is there a school Book Rental Scheme?
YES, there is a book rental scheme for junior cycle. Details are provided after Enrolment
5. Is there Bus Transport?
YES, Bus Eireann and private operators provide services to the school. All students are dropped off and collected on the grounds of the school.

6. What subjects will be on offer in Coláiste Chiaráin?
All students in Junior Cycle will study Irish, English Maths, History, Geography, Science and Religious Education. They will also study Wellbeing: (SPHE, PE, CSPE) and ICT.
Students will have a wide choice of optional subjects to choose from:
French, German, Visual Art, Home Economics, Music, Business, Applied Technology, Engineering, Wood Technology and Graphics.
7. How will Coláiste Chiaráin assist Students in their Transition from Primary to Secondary School?
We have:
- An assessment morning in January
- A Transition to Secondary Programme in June: activities to introduce incoming students to the school and new subjects, along with getting their locker and textbooks
- Induction Day in August with just 1st Year students in the building
- Taster programme for all optional subjects during 1st term
- A pastoral care, year head and tutor system to support students
